Ok I have been told that when we give birth we get the merit equel to shaheed, where can I get a reliable reference to this, also that on giving birth all our sins upto then are forgiven.I totally beleive it(i am bias) hehe seeing so i have done it six times...but i would like the reliable source

i don't know if it's true or not, but i was once told that if a woman died while giving birth she dies a shaheedah, but i don't have anything to back this up! i did also hear that sins are forgiven.inshallah i'll try and find a hadeeth to prove this.but it'll be from sunni sources....

Sub7an'Allah I looked far and wide for this hadith a couple of months ago on the internet and I couldn't find it.

However, I was listening to the sheikh during the Muharam lectures, and he did mention this and in fact he said it was a hadith. I didn't hear of any references he gave but his topic was about parents and he mentioned what sister iman said.

I know this doesn't do much help for you in finding the reference. Insh'Allah when sister Hajar takes a look at this thread, she would be able to give you source.
