I am new to this message board, in fact this is my first day. Anyway I was wondering if masturbation is allowed in Islam.
The way I define masturbation is a relief of tensions without having any impure thoughts of women. I apologize if this post offends anyone. |

Welcome,curious brother:) No offense taken... Like Sister Iman said,masturbating is not allowed in Islam. Its bases,as I understand it,is in the pshycological effects of it. "They seem to forget that in sexual intercourse all the senses contribute to the stimulation and orgasm: Man and woman see their partner, touch each other, say endearing words to each other and hear the stimulating sounds; and even the senses of smell and taste are utilized. And the penetration of male organ into the female leads to the final excitement and orgasm. But in masturbation the only source of stimulation is imagination, in which no other sense takes any part. The whole burden is loaded upon the mind; and, as a result, while normal sexual intercourse causes happiness and joy, masturbation creates emotional and psychological depression." (Rizvi, S.S.A., Your Questions Answered, vol. 3, p. 40-1) "In Islamic terminology, masturbation (istimna) means self-stimulation of the sexual organ till one achieves emission of semen or orgasm. Masturbation in form of self-stimulation is forbidden in Shi'ah fiqh. While describing the believers, the Qur'an says, "The believers are... those who protect their sexual organs except from their spouses... Therefore, whosoever seeks more beyond that [in sexual gratification], then they are the transgressors." (23:5-6) The last sentence makes it very clear that any sexual gratification outside marriage is considered a transgression of the law of God. And this verse also implies that sex is an act in which two people are involved. " (Marriage and Morals in Islam,Rizvi) Q: Isnt masturbation haram in our fiqh? A: That masturbation is unlawful for men is undisputed among all Muslim factions. Masturbation is defined as using the hand to lead the sperms to eject, with the ejection actually taking place. (Q&A,Fadlullah) It is allowed for the wife to masturbate her husband,but he can not do it himself.And vice versa. Hope this helps a little... I would suggest you to read Marriage and Morals in Islam by Imam Rizvi. It is a good book with explanations of different situations one might come across.It also have a section for youth and their handling with their desires before marriage. I am gonna make it short, you probably got an answer allready, but masterbation is haram in islam, and i also read a book called youth and spouce selection, a beautiful book, i recoomende to all the youngesters hehe but any ways in that book it also said, masterbation leads to the extent that the man will not want to sleep with his wife or any thing, because he will say, he can please himself lol well thats all i wanted to say salam and duas by the way welcome bro, i am kinda new myself, just been registered long time ago so welcome, ask any questions you like and we will all try to answer, each others questions,and help each other out peace with salam and duas abas |

salams
havent been here for ages, so i guess kinda new too........lol anyways we had a lady lecturer giving the girls lectures about sex etc.... she goes that she has come accross so many examples where a woman comes crying to her saying her husband dont have sex with her, when the husband was asked he goes" i'v been doin masturbation since i was 14 and i just dont enjoy sex, i thought if i got married i'd stop but i cant". This meant his and his wife's life was ruined. Apparently there are so many boys masturbating at such a young age, because they are unaware of the bad effects and by the time they grow up its too late.  |

How are children supposed to find out when their parents are to shy to bring it up? You would think the most important thing would to inform them at an earlier age, but then again you don't want to bring up ideas to such a young child. Hi n salaamz 2 all muslims and non-muslimz,i hav been searching the net for answers regarding masterbation, i am 18.......and 100% muslim, lol , n e way......i get sexual urges which lead 2 "masterbation", these urges are uncontrollable at this age for most youths around........so what can be done about it? on "SOME" sites it said that as long as you are not commiting sin such as sex b4 marriage its less evil 2 do masterbation.........IM BLOODY CONFUSED! and also a bit
